South Austin Italian joint Romeo's appears to have closed, though it's unclear whether the situation is permanent. Austin360 reports seeing a lock-out notice with "business closed down" scrawled on an accompanying letter tacked to the front door, but the restaurant advised folks in a February 16th Facebook post that they would be closed while they're "updating the electrical wiring in our 100 year building," and re-opening at the weekend.
Obviously that didn't happen, and now Facebook posters are starting to get kind of pissed.
A woman who had reservations for Saturday night writes: "It would have been nice to be notified in advance about the closure, rather than finding out only because we drove by about 4:30 PM that day." As of this morning the Romeo's voicemail is full, but when-slash-if they make an official statement, we'll let you know.
