With yesterday's launch of East Side King at Hole In The Wall, just one of Eater Austin's most-anticipated restaurants of the season remains unopen: Freedmen's, the West Campus cocktail bar and restaurant in an historic 1860's building, was originally slated for a September opening.
Now, co-owner Cuatro Kowalski (as in, the guy behind West Campus' collar-poppin' Tex-Mex sports bar Cuatros) tells Eater Austin they're "hoping and praying" for a soft opening this week, as they await some final inspections. In the meantime, their Facebook page is rife with new teaser photos of their packed-with-classics cocktail menu, patio set-up and vintage lighting and bar.
