Drafthouse Vet Named Alamo's 'Austin Market Chef'

New, 2 comments

With long-time Alamo Drafthouse chef John Bullington leaving to start his own spot and a shift to "regional concept chefs" at the Austin-based cinema-eatery chain, kitchen changes are afoot: Trish Eichelberger has been named the "Austin Market Concept Chef" for area theaters. Via press release sent today:

"Trish Eichelberger has grown to be a formidable presence in the Austin food scene. She has competed in national fried chicken contests, designed and executed numerous feasts at the Alamo and carved out a strong reputation as the executive chef at the Highball. We are extremely excited to have Trish take on the role of Austin Market Concept Chef for Alamo," says Drafthouse Founder & CEO Tim League.
Eichelberger was behind the menu at the temporarily shuttered karaoke-cocktail-bowling-alley-restaurant Highball, worked as executive chef at the Alamo Village location and also opened the downtown Alamo Ritz.
