The kitchen at West Sixth's Haddingtons has once again played host to a performance of the chef shuffle, a dance with which it has become all too familiar since it opened in January 2011. Zack Northcutt, James Corwell and CT Turgeon have all had turns there as executive chef.
Now, chef Jacob Weaver, who took over as Culinary Director at both Haddingtons and sister restaurant Mulberry in June, tells Eater Austin that he's joined the Perla's team as a sous chef. "I left Mulberry/Haddingtons in order to allow myself a little breathing room in my personal life as my fiance and I are preparing for our wedding in February," Weaver tells Eater Austin via e-mail of his decision to join the "unstoppable McGuire Moorman Group." (Congrats on the nuptials, chef!)
Weaver's replacements are Kristine Kittrell (of El Chile and the Moveable Feast supper club) at Mulberry and Kyle Burgess (formerly of Round Rock's Studio Kitchen) at Haddingtons. Says Weaver, who helped find his replacements: "I have no doubt the places are in good hands."
