This week Eater Austin is asking chefs where they like to go for a drink after service is done, but what happens when drinking is the job? That's the question we put to the Austin American-Statesman's Emma Janzen, who has the enviable job of writing the paper's Liquid blog and covering the booze beat. So where does she drink when she's not professionally drinking? Janzen writes, via e-mail:
When I get the chance to go out drinking in a non-work capacity, I tend to opt for the relaxed patio vibe. Austin Beerworks Black Thunder at Liberty. Fernet and coke at Volstead. (512) Pecan Porter at Clive. I crave the Margarita La Condesa and El Cubico cocktail at La Condesa at least once or twice a month. Negronis are my go-to at home when I want something simple but complex. And margaritas. Lots of margaritas.Cheers to that!
