Paul Qui and Motoyasu "Moto" Utsunomiya East Side King food truck at the east side bar the Grackle will reopen on Thursday, October 11th. Austin food filmmaker Christian Remde's marking the occasion with this video about the opening of the brand new truck, which was painted by Japanese action punk rocker Peelander Yellow, who's also done the art on ESK at Hole in the Wall and their Liberty bar truck.
In the video, Qui describes the new Grackle menu as a kind of lo-fi yet upscale Japanese food known as "BQ gourmet." Says Qui:
"The key is trying to make something that's accessible. Something distinctive that would be Japanese, but not necessarily fully Japanese. The ingredients will be different."
