Austin Tex-Mex chain Trudy's has sued Banger's Sausage House and Beer Garden, accusing the Rainey Street bar of stealing Trudy's training materials. Trudy's accuses one of its former managers and a number of employees who defected to Banger's of taking the materials with them despite the fact that they "signed a form when they were hired that explicitly told them not to share company documents." Via the Statesman, an anonymous tipster let Trudy's know about the alleged materials heist, and their case relies at least in part on the testimony of one Ellen Bruxvoort, who has worked for both restaurants:
In at least once case, the "Trudy's" name allegedly hadn't been removed from the documents. Bruxvoort said employees were told to scratch it out. "Defendants were in such a hurry to get their foot in the door of Austin's competitive restaurant industry that new hires were tasked with altering Trudy's documents in a clumsy attempt to hide evidence," the suit says.Banger's response? That Trudy's directed its employees to steal documents from Banger's. So there.
