The trial of Austin's Yassine brothers, downtown night club owners whose businesses were raided by the FBI in March, began yesterday and is expected to last a week or more. The brothers were arrested on drug, weapon and money laundering charges after the FBI collaborated with a confidential informant, now revealed to be a family member who, according to defense attorneys, intended to "bring the entire family down." Yassine Enterprises was behind nine clubs and restaurants downtown, including Qua, Stack Burger Bar, Pure and Treasure Island. [Statesman]
