Oyster? Hardly Knew 'Er

banquetshoal.jpgThe Austin Oyster Festival invites locals to slurp up six straight hours of the bivalve molluscs this November. Even though oysters and Austin aren't exactly biscuits and gravy when it comes to traditional pairings, the fest will bring in chef Patricio Sandoval of the Mercadito group, serving a menu of "premium East Coast oysters," as well as fried and grilled Gulf oysters. The event, which benefits the Nature Conservancy of Texas and The Smile Never Fades is November 9th from 6 p.m. to midnight at the Shoal Crossing Event Center; tickets are $30 and include food and beverage vouchers.
