Yesterday, celebrated chef Bryce Gilmore and his crew officially announced their intentions to make an honest restaurant out of the Odd Duck food truck, with plans to open a brick-and-mortar in the 78704 in 2013. It wasn't long before commenters wondered if Gilmore would be leaving his current restaurant, Barley Swine to focus entirely on Odd Duck, but Gilmore's press folks tell Eater Austin there's naught to worry about:
"Bryce is not leaving Barley Swine, he'll be splitting him time between the two. The partners, Sam and Mark, are both sous chefs at Barley Swine; Jason is the GM at Barley Swine, also a partner; and Dylan is Bryce's younger brother, who manned the trailer when Bryce opened Barley Swine. So in short, they'll all be taking part, Bryce will definitely be splitting his time."Lost in a sea of first names? That's: Sam Hellman-Mass and Mark Buley, Jason James and Dylan Gilmore.
