Clark's Oyster Bar, the latest endeavor from can't-stop-him Austin entrepreneur and chef Larry McGuire, has opened on West Sixth Street. That's yet another "most anticipated" fall opening to cross off the list. The "little brother" to Perla's Seafood & Oyster Bar is open Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. till "late," and weekends from 11 a.m. till "late."
An Eater Austin tipster who works in the neighborhood sends the above photo and a report from lunch, where she spotted a 50-pound slab of butter melting over the range. Menus are available online here; individual oysters are $2.25-$3 apiece served with fixin's, while the more expensive items include a $28 lobster roll, $30 cioppino and ... yes, that'll be a $170, 1.05822-ounce order of Northern Divine Sturgeon caviar. Who needs a drink?
