New CSA Farms From Actual Backyards

5milefarms.jpgTired of hopping the fence to gank your neighbors' growing greens? Join the new 5 Mile Farms CSA and leave your thieving ways while still keeping that neighborly feel. Formerly sourcing wholesale to places like Taco Deli and Daily Juice, 5 Mile Farms is now offering a community-supported agriculture program wherein joinees get to pick which produce they'll take for $20 per week, notably different from other programs that dole out pre-determined boxes to members. Produce is grown in backyards across Austin and available for pick up at Resolution Gardens--a.k.a. the program's founder Randy Jewart's house--or the HOPE Farmers Market. [CultureMap Austin]
