Last night's A Torrid Affair charity dinner was canceled suddenly "due to unforeseen circumstances," probably making the event a little more actually "torrid" than folks had originally anticipated. No one seems to have the details on what happened to shut down the $100 dinner, including Barley Swine's Chef Bryce Gilmore, who says he'd really been looking forward to catering the event.
But Gilmore isn't letting a little cancellation get him down, especially since he'd already broken down an entire wild boar on Sunday in preparation. Now, you don't have to have had a ticket to the Springdale Farm meal to fill your belly with boar. Writes Gilmore via e-mail: "This week you will see wild boar and Springdale ingredients on the Barley Swine menu." He also asks that guests be "understanding and continue to support these type of events."
