Just when you thought Austin's meat theft issues were a thing of the past, here's KVUE with a Capital Metro surveillance video of someone they suspect to be a meat thief. Apparently the bus driver on a route that goes by Sam's BBQ got supicious when she noticed this guy bringing "enormous amounts of meat" on the bus and recorded the video below on the surveillance camera. This video was taken in January, but police hope it will lead to more arrests.
Sam's, along with Las Morenitas and Willie's Bar-B-Que, was shuttered after APD busted them for buying meat stolen from HEB. The east-Austin landmark reopened earlier this month after a mandatory ten-day shutter. KVUE reports that Willie's has reopened since the arrests as well but Las Morenitas remains shuttered and has a "For Rent" sign in the window.
