Now that restaurant critic Mike Sutter took a buyout and left the Statesman, who is going to review restaurants for them? Eater reached out to the paper's food editor Tara Trower, who had this to say:
The Statesman is committed to covering the city's restaurant scene. The form that will take is still evolving, but will include restaurant news and criticism. I wish I could be more specific but we're still working things out.
She also confirmed that whatever form the food section ends up taking will include restaurant reviews at some point. Statesman food writer Addie Broyles has been doing some restaurant coverage for the paper since Sutter left (on her Relish blog, though, not Sutter's Forklore). So, will she do the reviews, or will they hire another full time critic? Or a gang of freelancers? Developing.
