Gypsy Picnic Trailer Food Festival Returns October 22

Everyone's favorite don't-call-it-a-clusterfuck food trailer festival, the Gypsy Picnic, is returning to Auditorium Shores on October 22nd from 11AM to 9PM. They're promising more trailers and "no stomach unsatisfied" this year, but the admission is still free and it will doubtlessly be just as packed as last year. Here's hoping for shorter lines and a smoother ordering process this time around.

They're also currently taking applications for vendors, so if you've got a food truck, hit 'em up.

The Gypsy Picnic Trailer Food Festival is rolling back down to Auditorium Shores Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 11am to 8pm. Last year, over 15,000 Austinites grubbed down and rocked out at the inaugural Gypsy Picnic, sampling and sipping from dozens of local food trucks and trailers while enjoying awesome live music. This time around, expect a bigger footprint and even more food trailers at Gypsy Picnic, leaving plenty of room to stretch out and no stomach unsatisfied.

Austin’s food scene continues to thrive, as does the city’s passion for eating food from a truck. Gypsy Picnic will make it easy, bringing a wide variety of the city’s most popular food trailers to one location, where trailer food foodies can once again get a taste of Austin’s best food on the move. Admission to the Festival is free, and dogs are welcome too!

Participating trailers will have a chance to reach thousands of new customers, as well as battle for bragging rights in the 2011 Gypsy Picnic Trailer Cook-off. A panel of expert judges will conduct blind tastings to select the very best in a variety of categories, while the public weighs in on overall fan favorite and other distinguished awards.

The call for vendors opens today at www.GypsyPicnic.com. All mobile restaurants are encouraged to complete and submit their applications by the August 11 deadline.
