Rumors abound this morning that Bryce Gilmore of Barley Swine is one of Food & Wine Best New Chefs for 2011, and although the winners won't be announced until tonight, editor Dana Cowin has been tweeting hints as to their identity. Many of the hints are maddeningly obtuse, but one certainly does seem to point to Gilmore: "Clue 8: lonestar tipsy pig."
While Gilmore is certainly not the only Texan chef to play with pork and booze in the same restaurant, he is the only one of the People's Best New Chefs nominees from Texas who uses both concepts in his restaurant's name. Stay tuned.
