Last week, Eater Austin was the first to tell you about the new White Horse bar and music venue over off of East Sixth Street. Owned by two Hole In The Wall veterans, Denis O'Donnell and Nathan Hill, the White Horse talks to the Daily Texan this week about their big opening party and their back story.
The opening celebration, complete with a live white horse, will be the culmination of three years of searching for a venue and funding to start their own venture. The grand opening is this Friday, December 9th, at which time you can decide for yourselves how "culturally different" the White Horse will be. If the incredibly cheap beer doesn't fog your judgment, that is.“I would hope that people on that side of town have the opportunity to walk into our bar and be romantically overwhelmed with bluegrass, jazz and the dim lights of a honky-tonk, with people two-stepping and twirling around on the floor that is so culturally different than what’s happening over there,” O’Donnell said.
