Sago Modern Mexican, the four-year-old restaurant in the Triangle development, has closed its doors. According to the restaurant owner, they just couldn't afford to keep the place open. Chase Jones tells us via e-mail:

After nearly four years of operation Sago has, indeed, ceased to operate. This decision did not come easily but due to a deteriorating economy, our downward trend in sales reached the unfortunate point where we simply could not continue to operate. We regret the loss of jobs our restaurant created, especially right before Christmas, and wish our excellent staff the absolute best of luck in relocating.
Their $3 brunch Bloody Marys will be missed.
