Lucy's Fried Chicken, the much-anticipated new down-home restaurant from Olivia's James Holmes will open on Friday, December 16th. Eater Austin first told you about Lucy's--which is named after Holmes' daughter and grandmother--back in May, and now the "legit comfort food" joint is ready to roll with a 100% Texas beer list and family-friendly chicken buckets with native Texan fowl. They're also locally sourcing pork from Richardson Farms and oysters from the Gulf of Mexico.
"Our plan for Lucy’s is to bring back a taste of old Austin," says Holmes in a press release this morning. Per the menu they've just released, looks like that means: oysters six ways, gizzards, greens and pies aplenty, plus a watermelon margarita called the "Juicy Lucy."
