Earlier this week we told you about Chef Brad Sorenson's new bar and restaurant concept, Bar Nova, set to open in the Rainey Street neighborhood. Today, the Austin Business Journal reports that Sorenson will have lots of company as the new kid on the block: "as many as ten new bars" are projected to open there.
In the works: a "full-service Wahacan restaurant," by which Eater Austin supposes the ABJ means "Oaxacan restaurant," specifically this one, as well as a Texas ice-house called Javalena, Bangers Sausage House and Beer Garden, a restaurant and bar called Bungalow, a bar called Blackheart (we know!) and a craft beer bar. The ABJ goes on to note that "some people in the neighborhood would like to see it evolve beyond a nighttime destination."
