Stack Burger Bar Opens Today in the Warehouse District

stack-burger.jpg

Stack Burger Bar opens today at 5pm in the heart of the warehouse district in downtown Austin, serving an elevated range of appetizers, sides, burgers, and larger main course plates. The project began earlier this year, and is occupying the former Saba and MTwo location.

Stack's burgers made from "high quality ranch raised hormone free beef", and all the condiments are house made. Stack also features a full cocktail bar, of course - it is the warehouse district.

The dinner menu's appetizers range from marinated olives to steak tartare. They offer four standard salads, and the list of sides include four types of fries. Their main focus, Stack offers 13 different burgers with meats ranging from beef, bison, ahi tuna, turkey, and chicken. Larger plate offerings include filet mignon, mussels, and an order of fish and chips.

Stack is open from 11am-11pm Monday and Tuesday, but will be serving late night Wednesday through Saturday, keeping the doors open until 2am. They are closed on Sundays.

Chef Octavio Benavides has previously been an executive chef for restaurants such as El Chile, Louis 106, Reed’s Jazz and Supper Club, and Maria Maria La Cantina, where he met Stack Burger Bar Operating Partner, Tre Dotson. The two then partnered with Mike Yassine of Yassine Enterprises, which runs several high-end bars around town.

Yassine Enterprises, though, was recently sued by current and former staff for not paying wages.

Best of luck to chef Octavio Benavides and the staff - hopefully you get paid, and your chef coats aren't made by Affliction.
