Fricano's Deli opened their second location today, now offering their sandwiches even closer to the UT student population. The spot in the former Quizno's Sub store at 24th and Nueces is only a mile away from their original shop north of the university, but the increased pedestrian traffic must be worth the proximity, as there seems to be a Subway, Starbucks, or bank branch every 15 feet.

Owners Jamil Muhaisen, DeeAnne Bullard, and Paul Fricano tell Eater Austin that the menu will be the same, and that there are plans to serve beer "at some point in the near future." Rumors are that they will stay open much later than their original location, perhaps closing at 11pm or midnight instead of 7pm.

The new space is also much larger, seating 40 people inside and 20 out on the patio.
