The James Beard Foundation has opened up nominations for the 2012 James Beard Awards, set to honor "the country’s most coveted honor for chefs; food and beverage professionals; broadcast media, journalists, and authors working on food; and restaurant architects and designers."
Last year Tyson Cole of Uchi tied for Best Chef of the Southwest bringing quite an honor and attention to the Austin culinary scene.
Nominations are open until December 31st, so begin thinking of Austin chefs and pastry chefs you'd like to see on the stage next May. Oh, and they also have categories for food writing, too. Just saying.
