This Saturday, October 15th, 219 West will close its doors at its Warehouse District location, and prepare for the move to its new spot, less than a half mile away. In July Eater reported the news of this game of musical chairs, the plans for Union Park to vacate its home on West 6th Street, move to The Domain, and for 219 West to move and replace it.
The new, larger location for 219 West is nearly double the size, and has already been gutted and refurbished. A new patio has been added to the front of the building allowing for outdoor dining, and several smaller, separate dining rooms will offer opportunities for private parties away from the main room inside. And, of course, what's West 6th without a large rooftop deck? Yes, 219 West have one now.
Owner Marty Munden shares:
We change our menu twice a year, and we’ll continue to do that at the new place, adding in some new dishes and specials along the way. The whole idea with 219West is that we provide something special for every taste. Diversity is very important to us, so we will continue to provide that balance between what's familiar and comfortable, and what's new and more exotic.
The new 219 West location is planned to open in mid-November. Boom Boom Room, we already miss you.
