You win this time, Rainey Street residents: the City Council voted 7-0 to revoke the Lustre Pearl's live music permit. The downtown bar received the permit in August, but neighborhood residents objected to it based on noise levels and traffic issues, the latter of which doesn't actually have any bearing on the approval process.
Lustre Pearl owner Bridget Dunlap told the Statesman she thought the permit was fair when it was issued, and added "I'm responsible for making Rainey Street the pretty gem that she is today...When I found her she was down and needed a little love." Well, now that love will just have to be a little quieter.
