A Thousand Fish and Chips; Wine and Ladies

CRESTVIEW — The newish cooperatively owned brewpub Black Star Co-op apparently makes a mean Redfish & Chips; so mean, they've almost sold a thousand orders of it. To celebrate, they're offering $2 off all orders leading up to the thousandth, and the 1,000th is free. Better hurry up, though, there are only 38 orders to go. [Black Star]

DOWNTOWN — The Austin Junior Forum is having a Women & Wine event tomorrow evening (that's November 4) at 5:30 at the Caswell House to raise money for grants for local non-profits. There will be, clearly, wine, ladies, and food from various eateries around town. $35. [AJF via Statesman]

LISTERIOSISWIRE — It's official: the FDA has traced listeria contamination back to some celery from San Antonio produce processing plant SanGar. The factory, which has been shut down by the Texas Department of State Health Services, had previously refuted the claims. [KVUE]
