Mangia Pizza Has Tax Troubles; Files for Bankruptcy

mangia-pizza-260-2.jpgMangia Pizza, home of Chicago-style deep dish and a rockin' dinosaur mascot, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. They seem to have had a little trouble with the taxman: according to the Austin Business Journal, the IRS has a $143,000 claim against them, and on top of that they owe $75,000 to the state. The company has more than $500,000 in debt and counts $50,000 in assets.

Mangia has four Austin-area locations, including one in Round Rock that the company's lawyer says is "consistently losing money" and will probably close. Guess it's just a little too hot down here for stuffed crust?
