Watch out, cheapskates: early next year, the State Comptroller will start cracking down on tax-avoiding bars and restaurants by requesting the TABC to suspend their mixed beverage permits til the debt has been repaid. The TABC already suspends permits for mixed beverage tax debt; the policy will soon apply to franchise, sales and hotel occupancy taxes as well. [ABJ]
