Tex Mex restaurant Mi Madre’s is expanding with a rooftop mezcal bar as part of the Cherrywood building. Called Techo, the bar will serve mezcal, cocktails with agave-based spirits, and beer. The cocktail menu includes the Tepache Mapache that comes with smoked guajillo chile dust, the Cereza Hermosa made with tequila, cherry liqueur, ancho reyes, and egg white, and the frozen margarita with guava. A call to the restaurant confirmed that the bar will open very soon Update, November 18, 12:57 p.m.: is now open.

Techo’s hours will be from 5 p.m. to midnight on Tuesday through Friday, and 5 p.m. until 1 a.m. on Saturday. The mezcaleria is currently hiring bartenders. Co-owners Aurelio and Rosa Torres opened the family Tex Mex establishment in 1990, providing breakfast tacos, migas, and other hangover helpers to the neighborhood.
